Anyone interested in recreating the first paintball game?
Here's a link to a description of it...

We just need a total of 12 players, and of course a really big woodsfield to do it (Darrin? This sounds right up your alley ;))

We have some time, so we can work on our ground rules of course. We obviously don't want to use the same masks that they used (shop goggles ), and unless someone has a stockpile of bolt action nelspots they can lend us we'll have to use slightly more modern gun. I say any stock class on the traditional side, or any pump or any pistol on the more lenient side. I'd love to be able to use my Tiberius, but my PGP is up to the task if everyone would rather go SC.

I'd be all over it if I didn't have to run the field. Weeknight in summer?? I've actually got one of the original 007's that I've never had a chance to use.

A Tiberius doesn't give me a first game feel.
I would say keep it stock.
I have a PGP and I would be up for this.
Unless like you said, we could grab a couple of 007s for the weekend.

I almost forgot, I think I also have a copy of the book "the official survival game manual".

I have a 007's as well but I do not knew if it works.
Everyone should bring out a new play for "World Paintball Day" June 22, 2008. Ask your local field for details.
The man that started paintball as we know it. He's on the left :camouflage:

I'd like to run one of these games in the spring sometime (maybe as soon as the leaves grow in), but if the first one works well we can run another in the summer, maybe as a side event on June 22nd.
For gear, lets say any stock class for now, the older the better. If we can't get enough SC guns together (can't be that hard to dig up a dozen pistols around here), we'll open up to modified stock class (stick feeds and small tanks/12 grams), and then open pump, and so on. Pretty much a given NO ELECTROS.

The first game was not a free for all.

If I recall, the first game was every man for himself, but the objective was to capture ten flags placed around the playing area and make it to the exit without getting shot.

Yep, 12 players, everyone for them self. 4 flag stations, each with a different color, on a large field, each with 12 flags on it. Every player was given a map showing where the flag stations were. The goal, find each flag station, get a flag from each, and make it back. First person back with 4 flag wins. If you shoot someone you can take any flag they already have.

I stand corrected as usual :)
