MWPPA

This weekends MWPPA was a huge success with over 200 games played on two fields. The MWPPA had over 30 teams playing with over 125 players. With all this the MWPPA started games on time and Prelims were done one and a half hours early on Saturday. Games started on time on Sunday also, but ended only 35 min ahead of schedule. Our prize package was huge this event; we gave gave away over $1700 in prizes in the beginner division and over $2200 in prizes in the rookie division. As always we want to hear feed back and give us input on what will make these events bigger and better for of course you the players, but spectators too. So with that being said please be appropriate when posting and don't be afraid to send PM/Emails to us. We are currently working on getting the web site updated with hotel information, dates, sign up and much more. We will be sure to let everyone know when it is done.
We want to thank the two Photographers that were in attendance all weekend.
Darrell Bennington was on site Saturday and Sunday with his wife, printing pictures and updating the website to let the viewers at home get the most updated information. Pictures and event CD's can still be ordered, make sure to get a hold of them at sales@benningtonphoto.com Pictures are currently posted online at http://www.benningtonphoto.com/PaintballEvent.aspx?date=2008_03_01
Garrett Master was onsite also taking pictures. Garrett focuses on teams that order his services prior to the event. Garrett asks for $30 a line and each team receives 200 pictures! A outstanding list of pictures are currently up at his web site http://71.82.213.220:82/action/Events/MWPPAM12/index.htm To reach Garrett to order or have him cover your team at the next MWPPA http://action.garrettmaster.com/
The MWPPA wants to thank all of the companies that help support the MWPPA,
Procaps, NXE, Ego, APPA.
We also want to thank,
Our great referee staff
Score keepers
Announcer

Fields did not promote enough movement on the snake side.

Great tournament, run very efficiently with good reffing. A center breakout would make it a little more challenging and force more play designs, rather than just the hop 2 feet to the bunker you're closest too. I'll play in another.

I am a fan of the setup as far as off the break that way its even when people get to the bunker or atleast should be. Like said before it would be nice to have a field to help promote movement but on a field of that size it would be difficult if both teams are all alive... or so i would think

i was hoping for a little more at the center 50, but overall really enjoyed the fields, ecspecailly #1, also i really liked the way you had it organized to be more viewer freindly with have the staging areas out of the way. great job :applaus:

the way the tournament was setup, run, prizes and the refs were all very good. the only things i didn't like is that i think to many teams made it to the 2nd day. More importantly i really didn't like sup air bowl style of fields and play. it was good for cramming two fields into AA but myself and others really didn't like the start on the back wall rule. It takes a lot of teamwork out of the game. Many people who have had a lot of experience in the PSP and NPPL had problems doing well and a lot of them didn't make it to the second day. the 3 best bunkers on the field were the back 3 and there wasn't really much to move up to besides the dorito 50 witch was a tower on both fields and wasn't as dominant as it should have been. the way the fields were setup and the start on the back wall rule leveled the playing field and encouraged players to sit at the back bunkers and shoot paint rather than get their teammates up the field to get eliminations.

didnt like the back wall break out and fields were too spread out then again im used to playing at sbi it would have been a little nicewr to have more 50 bunkers and some more 20 and 30 bunkers

What the **** do people with a "lot of experience in the PSP and NPPL" have playing IN A ROOKIE TOURNAMENT. If these "experienced" national players can't win a knobstick local: quit.
Grow up, stop sandbagging.*
Winners win. Losers lose.
Pump, ramp, semi.
Woods, balloons, pipe.
3-man, 5-man, 7-man.
NO EXCUSES.
*Unless you do it @ SAB with pumps....

no sandbagging even if it is a pump that just allows for faster snapshooting which = +, in my eyes atleast
as far as everything else agreed

Over all I had a blast! Not a big fan of the back wall start. It was more gunning then moving, but once you droped bodies you could move, just wished there could have been a little more movement. Other then that staff, refs, and all the teams in this event made it a good time.
Thank You,

Would like to see bigger fields, but considering the circumstances, they were fine. Break-outs are best, but when playing on small fields like the ones we had, the back wall was probably ideal.
For the second day, the groups of 4 work quickly, but a couple more games before each cut would have been nice to allow for some more cushion on mistakes.
Great tournament.

Thanks MWPPA for giving the players a voice. That will be a key aspect to making this a better tournament series.
At the last tourny I had no problems, except the refs seemed a bit disorganized. Other than that every thing else went very smoothly. :applaus:
But my main point is could you guys have more tournaments. I hate having to wait two months for the next 5-man tournament. If that could be done that be great

We would love to have more events, the only problem being, $$$. Very few people can afford playing every weekend, and if you add a tournament it may make it harder for others.
Plus for myself (JT) especially when I'm playing events I would rather see 3 events with a decent turn out in players/teams compared to 6 events with a minimum amount of players/teams.
Please keep on giving us feed back, and like RyanS said the players do have a voice in this league!

I know you guys were just being cool since there isn't going to be a sup air bowl this year and basically taking the place of that, but is it possible to do another 3 man event? (getting greedy) possibly 2 more?

I know this is a little late...but I really like the tourney, and would love to see more and to play it again. Anyway, the one thing that bugged me, is the way horn blow. It was based off one field, no matter what was going on with the other field. When a guy had gun problems on the horn filed, the held the start for almost 1/2 hour. However on the other field, a team wasn't entirely on the field, and running to the netting, as the horn blew. Just more communitcation between fields would have helped. Otherwise awesome event!!! If your looking for something to do April 12th...come on up to Superior Paintball, and help out a Seth from AA, at out junkyard warz benefit!! Thanks!
