looking @ a Geo gs2 what are the pros & cons compared to Ego 09, 08?
(I know it's a spool & they are poppets)
A Geo With GST? or do you mean gr2?
Pros (assuming you mean with gst)
-quieter
-Smoother shot
Cons
-Less efficient

Its basically comparing a closed bolt gun to an open bolt gun. Preference really. both are great options.
None of the guns mentioned in this thread are closed bolt.
In regards to an EGO vs GEO
A well tuned GEO has less recoil and a reduced sound signature when compared to an EGO.
They also have a significantly smaller profile and are lighter than the stock production EGOs.
The Gr2 kit is a free updated prop shaft (shorter, changed bumper o-ring) and an HPR piston with a captured cupseal. Is it a stock feature on any GEO with a SS# higher than 250.
The GST kit (GEO Soft Touch Bolt Kit) is a revised bolt and can, the bolt's face is more like an old venturi style and the can has less venting. The kit slows down the bolt cycle making the GEO easier on paint and further reducing the sound signature.
The GEO is less air efficient than the EGO. A properly tuned GEO with easily reach 1200 shots off a cold 68/45 fill.
The GEO 2 is a further refined GEO with a spring assisted bolt kit, a GEO 10 style frame, and the new SR2 regulator. It improves the ergonomics of the original GEO and includes a vastly improved bolt kit/regulator to improve efficiency (1500+ from a 68/45) and is whisper quiet with the new Shaft 4 barrel.

Great overview. Hit all the major highlights.
Couple typo's:
GEO 10 should have been EGO 10
SR2 should have been SL3

Also(correct me if I'm wrong) I belive in the geo there is one moving oring in the bolt design unlike dye series markers that have 5+. So it makes it easier to solve a problem on a geo bolt then a dm bolt
