With spring just around the corner the MWPPA wants to make sure all of our players are aware of the few rule changes.

Score Sheets Signed by winning team
-Several teams have expressed signing off on the score sheets after game completion. The MWPPA will be asking for team captains/Representatives to sign off on the score sheet after the completion of each game. However if a team fails to sign the score sheet within 5 games it will be marked as not signed and scores written will be posted. There will be no changes made to the score sheet once signed by both teams. This is being done to ensure organized score keepers and to keep people watching from at home the most live scores possible thanks to the APPA.
Lower rate of fire (13.33BPS)(Same as PSP)
-With the rate of fire changing in the PSP and Millennium series this past season we are following suit. This should not be a problem for most players. However as a reminder just because you set the board at 13.33 BPS does not mean it is going to shoot 13.33 BPS. Hopper speed, air pressure, battery life, and much more affect the rate of fire. Please make sure when chronoing you check your rate of fire! If you have any questions regarding the rate of fire or how to update your board please PM us.
Payments
-There will be three pay periods for each event. Teams that pay by the first pay period will receive paint for $60 a case. Teams that pay by the second or third pay period will receive paint at $65 a case. Every pay period the entry fee will go up by $50. Ie, Rookie first pay period is $200 second pay period is $250 and third will be $300. This is being done to help the MWPPA ensure we get the freshest paint possible and to have enough to meet the players demand. This is also being done to help teams and players forecast the event, ie amount of teams, players etc...
-Each deadline has been moved to Sundays rather then Tuesdays
Rankings
Same as last year with the exception of one thing. Once a player has played 5 MWPPA's they will be moved up to the next division. Ie Player A plays 1 Novice event and 4 Rookies, after the completion of the 5 event, he/she will be moved up and be ranked Novice. The system starts tracking from May 1st 2007 and three man events do not count in this equation. This should help continue growth within the MWPPA and paintball at a tournament level.
-You will be moved up mid season if you have played five events!
New format system
-All rounds of play excluding Semi Finals and Finals will be round robin format. This will still give teams a minimum of 8 games, but will not be the same teams, and it will exclude the possibility of playing 12 games in the best two out of three format. Semi Finals and Finals will be best two out of three format. This is being done to ensure that the true podium placement is found.

Things we are still working on to help build the MWPPA,

Which 2 brands of paint will be shot this season
-As some players may be aware of the cost of paint did go up this past winter. The MWPPA is currently working out the finer details to ensure that we can continue to offer paint for $60 and $65 a case. We hope to have an answer in the next week or two. We will make sure to keep you all updated as paint is very important.
ID Cards
-We hope to have ID cards this season at a very cheap cost to our players, to help speed up registration and ensure the correct players are on the field.
Being able to pre pay for paint
We want teams to have the option to pre pay for paint using the APPA system. How this would work is when teams pay their entry fee they could also pay for a certain amount of paint. Also sponsor's could go in and pay for a certain amount of paint also :whoo:
Updating the score board
-The APPA and MWPPA are working together to help make the score board easier to understand. Several players/spectators complain of being un able to know who advances and does not. This is a big problem when parents or people who do not play paintball are watching and or cheering you on.
Game schedules
-We will be giving out schedules to each team, but hope to give a schedule with score slots on the paper (similar to the PSP) so fans can keep track on their own. It should be noted that scores posted will be final, and this paper option for fans would only be an estimate.
New score system
The referee committee/MWPPA are currently discussing changing the points given out for a elimination, live players, flag hang, or flag pull. We are still discussing this and will make sure to update everyone ASAP.
Using the new Score Blast system
-We hope to be able to use the new score blast program from the APPA. With ScoreBlast technology, teams add the number for a text-enabled cell phone to their roster and then at the event receive updates blasted directly to their phone! This new service will roll out with automated updates of each team’s schedule as they advance through the tournament, with even more information to be added to ScoreBlast as the season progresses. Teams who use ScoreBlast will no longer have to wait on-site for all games to finish and the next day’s schedule to be printed nor have to find Internet access at the hotel to check the on line schedule. They can instead grab some food, some sleep, or socialize with all of the other paintball players at the event, as their next day’s opponents, fields and game times will be ScoreBlasted directly to their phone. ScoreBlast works with all major cell phone carriers, both domestic and international.
Updating the MWPPA web site!
Yes we know it needs to get updated. The web guys should be on it this week.
2008 rule book
It will be very detailed and should eliminate some problems players/teams had understanding and interpreting it :xfingers:. Should end up being about the same length as 2007. Will have this posted on the web site as soon as it is done.

We would like everyone to be patient with us at the MWPPA as we are working very hard to get everything wrapped up. We DO NOT want to pass the cost of some of these features to our players, and will do whatever we can to avoid it. dc:) ID cards are the one exception to this however ;) If you have any questions or concerns please let us know. It should be a very good season and look forward to seeing everyone playing again. Make sure you start talking about the MWPPA to fellow teams and players to make sure we get a great turn out for this first event. :gossip:

Registration should be up soon.

I was talking about the MNpig tournament page. The one that has all the MN tournaments listed along with ND, SD, and some WI tourneys. Even ones that choose not to use the APPA system.

I know what you meant. In order to post there we need to list it in the upcoming events page (forum) Then Darrin puts the info up on there. We want to release all the info at one time for our players, so it minimizes the questions you may have. I talked to the APPA today and sounds like I should have answers next week and registration could be up by this weekend.
