i said friendly staff and number of other players because if you have friendly staff making customers seem like their friends, more will show.....

It is not fun if the quality of players is low, but the most important thing is to have very qualified refs and staff that know what they are doing.

I think the quality of the players doesnt matter at all. Having worked at a paintball field for 4 years now i really think that you need good refs and more than one field. If you only have one field you are only acomidating one type of player. Like air assault they attract more torniment players because of theyre nice indoor setup. but only having one field is definatly a drawback. to really make money in the paintball buissness you need to book private groups. ask any field owner an they will say they make all theyre money in private groups. You can basically charge whatever you want from 40$ a case to 80 ive even seen 100$ for a case of paint. Most outdoor fields are setup for the more rec player. haveing various types of woods fields but you also need fields to appeal to other players. If you dont have the money to buy an airball field.. build a hyperball field. once because they are permanent. and two they will almost pay for themselves if you book enough private groups. You must also know f you charge alot for paint i would reccomend a byop day. Also having refs that know how to handle and work with rec players and private groups is a must. Finding good help isnt easy and it comes with alot of time and experiance to train them. all and all the variaity of fields you have will determine how much buisness you will bring to the field.

So you are saying you don't mind going to a field where everybody is trash talking and getting into fights and trying to smash people's faces in on the field?
How can quality of players not matter? The players make the game.

i think you misunderstood the answer i meant skillwise. yes i deal with alot of people like that. and i dont like it anymore than you do. i cant even count on a calculator how many people i have kicked out for the day for causing problems.

I disagree, I find myself looking for other better paintballers to practice with cause your skill can only get sloppy and worse. Maybe you can practice on your faults with ****** players but you will need to try it on some good players, or when it comes to tournament time you'll find yourself in last place. So the skill of players is important and that attracts me to places, i've actually stop going to two course because of the low quality of players.

location is important to me.
I live in Austin so it's at least an hour to the nearest "good" field. (lakeville)
Austin has a field but it only has 1 field, which is pretty fun, but after playing it for 5-6-7 hours it's pretty limiting.
I would rather have a speedball course down here. Fasted paced action and quick games means more people can play, plus the amount of paint wasted in a 30 minute game of medic is pretty staggering.

Try driving four hours for a weekend. Your location looks pretty good from here.

Quality player count and field, although price is important too for those of us on a budget.

people actually playing and contributing in a positive manner. I hate it when people come to the field and take forever in between matches. I just like it when there is constantly people who WANT to go out on the field no matter who is playing.

For me it's the quality of players. I'm sick of meeting and playing with jackasses. I want a field where everyone is friendly and has fun. There are too many little kids running around thinking they are the **** with their high end guns and all that jazz. The quality of the players at a field will bring in new people and keep the old ones coming back.
