Not sure what was said above, as it was a little bit un-readable, however I think you were saying that..."you can feel the hit on your pack or back because of the force that is put against it"?
I agree that most of the time you can feel a paintball hit your body, or maybe even move your pack, but that doesnt mean that it broke. This is when you should be calling for a paint check, but what if that ball that hit your pack was when you were running. Running can cause things (packs) to shift around and could possibly lead to you not feeling the pack hit.
I was not at this event, but the one complaint that I heard from the WSU guys was that there was a 1 4 1 called on a pack hit that the player didnt know was there, and was baited into a call by the ref, as he claimed to "see the hit a while back" but didnt pull the player immediately.
I can see baiting a player into a 1 4 1 on an obvious hit, but as for an un-obvious hit, I feel thats a bit too much.

Realizing that being a ref is a thankless job, and that no one is perfect 100% of the time is something that all players need to be conscious of. If I remember correctly, this was one of, if not the cheapest events that the MWN has had in years, and the old saying goes, you get what you pay for.....and guess what, it has held true.
Glad to hear that there were volunteers out there and my hat is off to them. People have this entitlement attitude, and it runs rampant in college kids....maybe this will show them that you cant always get everything (ie..cheap tournament, good refs, paint, food...ect).
TLDR: Props to John and Rob, Facility for standing behind its crew, and the volunteers.
