A note from Darrin Johnson the editor for MNpig.com |

MNpig.com is leading the way! MNpig.com bring together the three things I love the most: Paintball, Taking pictures and the Internet. Yes I am addicted to all three! I got the idea for this web site Back in 1999. I had been play paintball almost every weekend in the summer since 1987 and like most other players back then only now about the bigger paintball companies that could afford to advertise in the Yellow Page. In 1998 I started to use the internet more and more and the more I use it the more paintball companies I found. I started asking other players "If they knew that there were a paintball field located in ------ and another one in ---------" Most of us had no idea that there were more then 5 or 6 paintball companies in all of Minnesota. In the spring of 1999 as the Minnesota paintball season was getting ready to start, I did some digging around the internet again and notice a few new paintball companies were getting ready to open, but again no one know anything about them. That when I got the idea for a Paintball Directory web page. (one page) In 2000 I went to a Polar Bear tournament and I couldn't believe how big paintball tournaments in Minnesota had gotten. I happen to have my camera in my car, since I started taking pictures in 1982 I never go anywhere with out it, so I thought it would be cool to take pictures and give them out to the players for free like I had done a hundred times before at other events. I also had a new digital camera with me and I took a few pictures with it because I thought it would cool to put a couple of them up on the web page to make the page look a little cooler. By the time I was done that day taking pictures that day I had over 200 (thats a lot when your using film). I had so many great pictures, that I just couldn't put a few up I had to put them all up. I have been doing it ever since. Here we are 5 years after putting up that first web page, MNpig.com now has a number of photographers that volunteer like myself for the love of Paintball and of taking pictures! We also have many more great people all over the State of Minnesota that e-mail us pictures. The one page web site back then has grown to what you see today. In
2002 MNpig.com received about 1,000,000 views. MNpig.com is currently
hosting over 5000 pictures. MNpig.com has gotten so big now that in 2003 we started asking for help with expenses and have found many great sponsors, with out which we could not keep growing and leading the way. Thanks You Sponsor!! 2004 we will be adding video clips, Free photo CD's for each event we cover and will be covering more National events that Minnesota players are going to.
